    • Corns and callus removal

    • Cracked heels and dry skin

    • Advice on footwear and simple home care

    • Regular maintenance for older adults or anyone who finds self‑care difficult

  • What to expect:

    • A friendly assessment of your feet and any concerns

    • Treatment there and then to reduce hard skin, remove corns and trim nails

    • Simple aftercare tips and a suggested follow‑up interval (often every 6–8 weeks)

Verruca assessment and treatment in Hurstpierpoint

  • Verrucae can be painful and stubborn, especially on weight‑bearing areas like the heel or ball of the foot. I confirm the diagnosis and offer practical treatment options to help you get back to comfortable walking.

  • How I treat verrucae:

Diagnosis and advice at your first appointment

    • Treatment options tailored to age, comfort and how quickly you’d like it resolved

    • Home care guidance between visits to support results

  • How many sessions:

This varies with size, location and how long it’s been present. Many people see improvement over a short course of visits; we’ll agree a plan that fits you.

For children and nervous patients: I explain everything simply and go at your pace. If a child is worried, we keep things gentle.

  • Appointments and times:

Clinics run on Monday mornings and Tuesdays at Hurst Health Hub, Hurstpierpoint.

Limited out‑of‑hours appointments may be available (+£15 clinic room fee).

Ingrown Toenails & Nail Surgery

  • An ingrown toenail can be very painful and may lead to infection. I offer relief with conservative care and, when needed, a simple minor procedure (nail surgery) under local anaesthetic that can provide a permanent solution.

  • Signs you may need help:

    • Painful, tender nail edge that catches on shoes or bedding

    • Redness, swelling or discharge at the nail border

    • Recurrent ingrown nails that keep returning

  • Your options:

    • Conservative care: reduce pain and inflammation, reshape the nail edge, dressings and advice

    • Nail surgery: under local anaesthetic, the problematic part of the nail is removed and a chemical is applied to reduce regrowth of that section

  • Recovery and aftercare:

    • Take it easy for the first day; wear roomy footwear

    • Keep the dressing clean and dry as advised

    • Many people return to normal daily activities quickly; we’ll tailor advice to your job and sport

  • What the procedure is like:

    • Toe is fully numbed with local anaesthetic

    • The ingrown section is removed; the remaining nail is left neatly shaped

    • A sterile dressing is applied and aftercare is explained

    • Most people say it was far easier than they expected

  • Appointments and times:

Assessments and procedures are scheduled on Monday mornings and Tuesdays at Hurst Health Hub.

Limited out‑of‑hours appointments may be available (+£15 clinic room fee).

All new patients must book an Initial Appointment. The podiatrist will assess your condition and advise if a Nail Surgery appointment is appropriate.
